In this self-directed online course, we will provide an overview of violence against women in Canada, including how our society thinks about violence, and how violence against women is a reflection of women’s inequity.

This course explores the basics of transition house work and provides an opportunity to remember and rethink our practices in relation to the goals of our work with other advocates facing similar challenges.

This course is intended to provide staff and managers at Transition Houses, Second Stage Houses and Safe Homes in BC with tools to increase access to services for Indigenous women and their families who are seeking safety from violence.

This course is designed to support anti-violence workers in understanding the connections between experiences of violence, trauma, substance use and mental wellness through an intersectional feminist lens.

This course provides an overview of the justice system in BC for staff of Transition Houses and other BCSTH members.

This self-directed online course will increase awareness and understanding of the unique barriers faced by immigrant and refugee women leaving violence and provide practical information and tools about how to best and culturally safely support them.
